Cheshire Motorcycle Crash: Rider Killed in Fatal Mountain Road Collision on Mountain Road

CHESHIRE, CONNECTICUT — A motorcyclist has died following a single-vehicle crash on Mountain Road in Cheshire, with police continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.

The crash happened Saturday night, September 19, 2026, near Sorghum Mill Drive. Cheshire police responded at approximately 10:17 p.m. after receiving a report of a motorcycle crash. The rider suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Trinity Ambulance personnel.

According to the preliminary investigation, the motorcycle was traveling south on Mountain Road when the operator lost control and left the roadway. Police said the rider was ejected from the motorcycle and struck a utility pole.

Mountain Road was temporarily closed between Sorghum Mill Drive and Higgins Road while officers from the Cheshire Traffic Division and the Naugatuck Valley Collision Investigation Team worked at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin. Consequently, details such as the rider’s age, hometown, family information and funeral arrangements have not been confirmed publicly.
