Accident Mortel au Drive Leclerc des Angles : Les Informations Disponibles Restent à Confirmer

LES ANGLES, Gard — Reports concerning a fatal accident at the E.Leclerc Drive in Les Angles, in southern France, refer to an incident that occurred in February 2024 rather than a newly confirmed accident in 2026.

The accident happened on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the Drive facility. According to reports published at the time, an employee was attempting to deal with packages that had become stuck on overhead rails when he lost his balance and fell from a height of roughly three to four metres.

Customers waiting to collect their orders witnessed the incident. A customer who was a doctor reportedly provided initial assistance before emergency responders arrived. Firefighters and emergency medical personnel treated the injured employee before he was airlifted to the Nord Hospital in Marseille.

The employee, described in reports as a man in his fifties and an assistant manager at the Drive, later died from his injuries on Monday, February 12. Reports said he was married and had two children.

An investigation was opened to establish the precise circumstances of the accident and determine whether workplace safety requirements and equipment standards had been properly observed. France’s labour inspectorate was also involved in the investigation. The Drive was temporarily closed following the incident.

The E.Leclerc Drive in Les Angles remains an established retail location at 500 Avenue Grand Angles. Current business listings continue to identify the site as an operating E.Leclerc Drive.
