Daniel Robert Macfie, affectionately known as “Dan” or “Danny,” passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, at the age of 52. His death has left family members, friends and loved ones mourning a man remembered for his humor, kindness and willingness to help others.
Born on March 9, 1974, in Mastic Beach, New York, Daniel was described in his obituary as a beloved son, father, brother and friend. Those close to him remembered him as someone with a good heart who had a natural ability to see the good in other people.
Daniel worked in plumbing and also as a handyman, taking pride in being useful and assisting people whenever he could. His willingness to lend a helping hand became an important part of how family and friends remember him.
He is survived by his parents, Donald Macfie and Nora Macfie; his son, Caleb Macfie; his sisters, Tamara McGlone and Elizabeth Williams; and his brothers-in-law, Thomas McGlone and Ryan Williams, along with extended relatives and many friends.
His family described his laughter, generous spirit and caring nature as qualities that will remain in the memories of those who knew him. Rather than being remembered solely for the circumstances of his passing, Daniel’s loved ones are reflecting on the relationships and everyday moments that defined his life.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Myrtle Beach Funeral Home, located at 4505 Highway 17 Bypass South in Myrtle Beach.
In keeping with Daniel’s spirit of helping others, his family plans to donate personal care items in his honor instead of receiving flowers. The gesture reflects the generosity and concern for others that his family identified as an important part of his character.
