Reading MA Suicide: Death Investigation Underway Near Chili’s Restaurant

A death investigation is underway near a Chili’s restaurant in Reading, Massachusetts, after police responded to a report of a person suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

According to Reading police, officers and emergency personnel were dispatched to 70 Walkers Brook Drive at approximately 12:45 p.m. after a U.S. Postal Service worker reported seeing someone who appeared to have been shot in the area. First responders found the person deceased at the scene.

The location is home to Chili’s Grill & Bar. Police established a significant presence around the restaurant while investigators worked at the scene. Authorities said there was no danger to the wider public, although people were advised to avoid the area while the investigation continued.
