A report circulating online claims that a student at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) has died, prompting concern within the university community. UW-Stevens Point remains active for the 2026–27 academic year. The university reported on September 18 that it had welcomed its second-largest first-year class in 40 years, with 1,905 first-year students and total enrollment of about 8,480 across its Stevens Point, Marshfield and Wausau campuses.
